Get ready in three steps.
Move Folemi to Applications
Use the button above to download Folemi-0.9.5-arm64.dmg and open it. Drag Folemi into Applications, eject the DMG, then launch Folemi from Applications. At least 500 MB of free space is recommended for installation and updates.
Sign in with Apple or Google
Open sign-in from Folemi, choose Apple or Google in your browser, and sign in to the account you want to use. Confirm the connection and return to Folemi. AI features require beta access for that account.
Allow Kindle text access
Follow Folemi’s instructions to open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, and allow Folemi. Selected text is received through the standard copy action only when you request an import from Kindle.

2⌥⌘K opens an explanation.
3Choose “Save to knowledge and return to reading” only for what you want to keep.⌘Enter also saves the explanation.
To return without saving, press Esc . Shortcuts can be changed in Folemi’s Shortcut Settings. Open the dictionary to revisit saved knowledge. “Synced with cloud” indicates the synchronization status.
Books or passages that cannot be copied, and formats unavailable through standard copy, are not supported. Imports may consume a book’s copy allowance. AI explanations and suggested connections can be incorrect.
Updating Folemi.
Save or discard any unsaved explanation, confirm “Synced with cloud,” and quit Folemi with ⌘Q . Replace Folemi in Applications with the copy from the new DMG, then sign in with the same provider and account. Automatic updates are not currently available.
You may need to allow Accessibility access again after replacing the app. You do not need to delete your dictionary or notes. Important knowledge can also be backed up as Markdown using Export in the dictionary.
Troubleshooting.
An explanation does not open
Check that Kindle is in front, text is selected, and Accessibility access is allowed. Change the shortcut if another app uses it. Import stops where copying is not permitted.
Saving or syncing fails
Check your internet connection and signed-in account. You can retry without closing the explanation. Quitting with an unsaved explanation will lose it.
Is my Mac supported?
Use Apple menu → About This Mac to check your chip and macOS version. Intel Macs are not supported. The target is macOS 13.5 or later; testing on every version and model is not yet complete.
A security warning appears at launch
The distributed build is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. If a warning reports damage, modification, or malicious software, stop and tell support where you downloaded it and which version you used.
